Tuesday’s Tool: SchoolTube

We’ve featured several YouTube add-ons in recent posts, but this one needs to be highlighted.

SchoolTube is today’s tool, one I learned more about at last week’s Winter Conference. Here’s what their website says:

SchoolTube.com is the nation’s largest K-12 moderated video sharing website that provides students and educators with a safe and FREE video sharing website that is exclusively endorsed by leading education associations.

SchoolTube provides schools with a way to store and share videos safely. Also, for teachers in districts where YouTube is restricted, YouTube videos can be stored and shared without the unnecessary ads or comments.

This online tool provides several uses for different groups. Students can use it to post their own works and compete for awards. Teachers can be sure that the media shared from the site has been approved by their peers as well as gather lesson ideas. There are also many uses for principals, parents, and IT managers.

Check out SchoolTube today and discover the ways you can enhance your lessons with the media and storage it provides.
